The CVRD Septic Maintenance Rebate
Courtenay Septic Systems does the kind of work the Comox Valley Regional District's 2026–2028 septic maintenance rebate pays for: 75% back, up to $500 on an inspection, $400 on a riser, $200 on a distribution box and $100 on an effluent filter. Your property qualifies if it sits in CVRD Electoral Area A, B or C.

You can use the rebate on maintenance work, most often when we repair your riser or distribution box.
Who qualifies for the rebate?
The rebate applies to properties in CVRD Electoral Areas A, B and C — that covers Royston, Union Bay, Black Creek and Merville in our service area. Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland are municipalities, not electoral areas, so addresses inside those boundaries aren't eligible. The program runs 2026 through 2028.
What septic work does the rebate cover?
The rebate covers maintenance work, so you get help paying for inspections or minor repairs to keep your system working. The CVRD pays 75% of that work, up to $500 for an inspection, $400 for a riser, $200 for a distribution box or $100 for an effluent filter. We can tell you whether a specific job qualifies before you book it, and we'll note it on the invoice either way.
How do you apply for the rebate?
Apply to the CVRD before you book. It's first-come, first-served, and once you're pre-approved the money is held for you for 90 days. We then do the work as an Authorized Person and invoice you, and that invoice is what you send in with your claim. We keep track of CVRD program updates so you always get accurate rebate information.
How much can you save on a typical repair?
A cracked distribution box or a riser that needs installing is exactly the kind of job the rebate was built for — it's maintenance, not a full system replacement. We flag it during the visit if we think your job qualifies, so you're not left guessing once the invoice arrives.
